@nosferatudasvampir At first I thought this. But after reading some early reviews where lyrics from other songs on the album are included (“I live and die through England”), I’m beginning to think she’s on a nationalistic tip here, albeit very critical about the state of things.

Am I the only one who thinks this is the most ironic fuck off to Little England patriotism in recent musical history? Am I hallucinating?

Thanks PJ… absolutely stunning and gorgeous. I’m excited for the new record.

@Omgeekness agreed. i don’t ever want it to end.

This song is too short!!! I want it to go on for at least 12 more minutes!

another beautiful, unexpected twist in the latest chapter in the living chameleon that is PJ Harvey…dammit she’s done it again! :)

    speechless.

@MrsNemonina we are just telling ideas about music and you still say you are angry:) i don’t understand it anyway.. you didn’t like this song.. and i liked it.. that’s all:) and by the way i am 28 years old and i adore PJH’s music.. thanks and goodbye:)

@MrsNemonina This song is sort of “safe.” There’s plenty of “safe” music that’s also quite good. This a catchy song, but I’m hoping the album is a bit more varied.

Why’d the comments section have to turn into MrsNemonina’s blog?

I like this song for what it is and with no comparison to any other artist or any other PJH song.

@vnd17 I can’t help it being angry, if someone tells me what I think – I sense degradation. But well, I disgraced a song by Polly, shame on me. How old are you? I’m 26 and listened to all her records since I am 16. Maybe you are older. Relaxing is okay, but boring is not. Well, not every single song from Polly is great, but she has some really outstanding songs. anyway, I hope here’s someone who feels the same like me…is there???

@MrsNemonina not agree with you. since 1990′s she is trying different things in every album she have made i listened all of them. i mean i look at all the stupid same music people make in populer music today.and then look at what PJH have done so far.her music was never “safe”..she was never afraid to go to the darkest and deepest places and now maybe she want some peace..some relaxing. she tries this for the first time.we are just telling our thoughts.no need to be angry

  20. MrsNemonina

@vnd17 I was angry at you, because of your comment: uuuh, they want the old Polly back. How can actually know that????!!! That’s not true! It makes me angry if you people here think that, because that’s not case. I know she likes to experiment, and I love her for that because it’s alway excting. but recently she sounds too “safe” for me. And I’m sad if this is the case, because I want to like her music. I think she’s not evolving at all, like some people say – not with this song.

  21. vnd17

@MrsNemonina you don’t have to be rude by saying “shut up”.. i’m only telling my thoughts.. and i respect yours. if you don’t like it then you just don’t like it.. for example i liked it very very much.. for me this song is pure beauty.. but you don’t have to be rude.. i don’t understand why you are angry like that. i think you are the one who has to get over it..you should have respect for other people’s thoughts. it is not me..

  22. eggyumyum

This song is just growing and growing on me… it is sincere and beautiful…

  23. wb64

….some artists change and evolve whether we like it or not. if this current vision isn’t for everyone, i’m sure the artist will know and understand. if you like the earlier music, it still exists and is there for your enjoyment. i think it’s cool and different(for her) and after so many albums….she’s doing it for her….we’re just along for the ride, or left standing by the curb….

p.s those who like to criticize….should learn how to spell…

I love that Peej finally played saxophone!

I know she studied it as a teenager.

  25. MrsNemonina

@MrsNemonina with listen I also mean Interviews to get an insight in how she works. Well, but it’s just one song, maybe the record will be great.
