   Bette Midlers’ rendition of (The Rose) has been my all time favorite song since the first time I heard it. So emotional and stirring for the soul. Though I enjoy lots of songs, when a song gets in your heart it will remain a lifelong favorite.

   Chris, the meaning is so obvious if you just listen to the words – you are the seed, and you will never be defeated so long as you are willing to take that chance. Don’t be afraid to die, and don’t be afraid to live. Wear your heart on your sleeve, learn to give. This is one of the most beautiful and hopeful love songs ever written, and nobody has ever sang it anywhere nearly as perfectly as Bette. Once you listen to her version, there is just no reason to ever listen to any other. I love it.
